About This Room
Even though the bathroom uses mostly new materials, it was designed to be complementary to the rest of the house. Full-width fir trim encases the restored window and the new laundry chute. Period-correct baseboards frame the new marble tile floor.
Arts & Crafts style homes of the early 20th century typically contained "sanitary style" bathrooms featuring light-colored, non-pourous surfaces such as porcelain or ceramic tile and white enamel work along with polished nickel hardware and fixtures. The Bungalowcious master bathroom puts a modern spin on the concept, opting for a marble mosaic tile floor, a new clawfoot tub and a freestanding dual vanity in white with matching his-and-hers built-in medicine cabinets, each featuring a sconce light.
The reclaimed six-pane window, along with the baseboards and the door are all douglas fir finished in a dark stain. The slate blue walls tie the white together with the natural wood to form a warm, clean bathroom that is all modern, but pays tribute to the period of the house.
The new "Sunrise" clawfoot tub from Rejuvenation sports polished nickel feet. The faucet is a "Sign of the Crab" chrome clawfoot tub shower enclosure set by Strom Plumbing

The floor is a marble basketweave mosaic by Carrara
