About This Room

According to Dawn's research, all of the original millwork had been given an "Old Ivory Finish" during the late 'teens or very early 1920's.  Some of the original trim was removed and wallpaper was hung in 1924.  At some point after that, everything was painted pink, even the fireplace brick!

Wanting to keep the remodel true to the original design of the house, the Petersons chose to spend a significant amount of time and money painstakingly stripping decades of paint off all of the woodwork and brick.  When combined with their choice of appropriate paint and stain colors, the results are truly spectacular.  The home is warm and inviting, encouraging visitors to sit and stay a while.
